The Four on the Ben Lawers Five
Up at silly o’clock for a days hillwalking just outside Killin. Donnie was down from Skye and JC and AK were up from Larbert. Gus was meant to be with us but got car trouble.
Met at the Ben Lawers car park for 7:30am then jumped in Donnie’s car so and took it to the Ben Lawers Hotel for start point just after Machium Farm.
We did the circuit anti-clockwise (east to west) starting with the long pull up to Meall Greigh (3284ft) then over to Meall Garbh (3668ft).
The best hill of the group was next in An Stuc (also 3668ft) and has a nice wee scramble on the ascent.
Then over to the main man Ben Lawers (3983ft) and this is where we really started to see the masses on the hills.
The traffic between here and over to our final Munro Beinn Ghlas (3619ft) was crazy!
So many people out which I’m some ways great to see but in other ways I don’t like seeing folk up Munro’s in trainers and carrier bags. That’s how call outs happen!
Anyhow, great day. Five Munro’s, four mates and plenty of banter.
Made it home around 6:30pm in time to take H out her evening walk.
43k steps today!
