Still Summer

I had a pleasant walk today. The recent wet weather had brought out slugs and snails and quite a few small brown mushrooms. It was quite cool but there wasn’t that autumnal bite in the air. There were still a few butterflies around. The birds are starting to flock - there were goldfinches and meadow pipits in abundance.
