Sunflower Sentries
A wooden gate. A dry stone wall.
A thatched cottage near the shore.
Like guards on duty, straight and tall,
Sunflowers flank the blue front door.
This is one of a few attractive cottages across the road from Blackpool Sands, South Devon. It's lovely to see sunflowers nearly reaching the roof.
Had a fabulous walk in warm sunshine. Looked down over Blackpool Sands, busy again, but without being overcrowded. Saw lots of Cabbage White butteflies - large and small, a couple of ragged Speckled Woods, a Red Admiral, a bee-moth and a dragonfly. Still plenty of bee-activity, too.
