AB#1 joined me on a late afternoon hike from Callander up to this spot in the shadow of the headwall of the Munro, Stuc a' Chroin. It was brass-monkeys overnight, glad I took the extra-season sleeping bag. First thing I headed up to the summit and was surprised to encounter a hill-runner just arriving there too. Looking across to Ben Vorlich 2km to the north, I could see another two hill-goers taking photos. It was 08:13. The hills are busy!

Our descent followed the steep SSE ridge dropping from the lochan down to Gleann a' Chroin where we could see a new vehicle track not-on-the-map which offered a rapid return to the car. I think Stuart might know something about that track, I recall him surveying up that way a while ago.
