Not Shropshire

I’m back to work full time on Tuesday so I’m currently trying the make the most of my last days of furlough. I’ve come to Cheltenham to have a weekend of walking in the Cotswolds with Rob.

We had both sort of assumed that Cheltenham wasn’t much of a town in itself but that it would be a good place to explore from, but we were both surprised to hear, from different sources, that it’s actually quite nice.

After meeting at the station we went for an overpriced panini in Montpellier (we should have known) followed by a lovely stomp up Crickley Hill. We found out afterwards that Crickley Hill is pretty close to where they do the cheese rolling. Had we known, we would have made a detour and tried for a re-enactment.

Our hotel is very close to GCHQ which is pretty exciting when you’ve watched as much Spooks as I have.

We tried for a walk around Cheltenham after dinner but we are two of Britain’s most nesh and the weather conditions were far too hideous to stay out too long.
