From Above
A couple friends who moved away to Tokyo last year came to town Sunday and Monday. Met them at the bar Sunday, then for breakfast and a photo shoot Monday morning. They are both great photographers, and I would love to be able to match them one day. When this guy said he liked the shots I was putting on Blip, it was like praise from Caesar. He's actually moving to Holland soon for a year of work there, and I'm heading to America soon for a little before coming back. So it was nice that his trip to Nagoya coincided with when I was still here and had some free time.
This image was taken from the top of Oasis 21, looking down at the "ice" skating rink (they set it up in the winter, and since it's not actually cold enough for ice, they use these plastic boards that are somehow slippery enough to skate on) through the shallow pool of water at the top. Mutes the colors and adds some distortion to the image (at lower shutter speeds it was just like splotches of color in blue). Kind of like my current situation: A week ago I felt I was deciding between three job offers, now one is automatically out, one is a maybe, and the third is definite but not my first choice (number 2 is). I want to have this figured out before I go home, So I'm hoping for something clear and good to happen this week.
