Essex Bridge

Just close to the back entrance to Shugborough Hall, you will find Essex Bridge. It’s one of my absolute favourite places to sit for a while.

After our horrid weather, when it dawned beautifully, I headed over there early and just sat in the peaceful sunshine.

It was quite busy. Lots of cyclists (Le Tour starts today, on EuroSport or ITV4.)  dog walkers and others who just love a morning like this. 

I chatted to a lovely lady for a while and, on cue, the kingfisher treated us to a stunning flypast - shimmering blue flash.
