Here we go!
This is the first time since the dreadful summer bushfires that we have been warned about smoke haze. The Rural Fire Service is starting its hazard reduction burning program. They do a terrific job, we know it's necessary and we are very grateful to them but it would be disingenuous of us to say that we enjoy smelling our bush burning and seeing the world through a haze of smoke. We could smell it today but the haze hasn't hit us yet. This could go on for weeks now. We can but hope that it will contribute to diminishing the chances of a repeat of last summer.
