New area

So just when you think you know Chiang Mai a new area appears.  We heard about a new Korean Restaurant from a lady who lives in our complex.   Her son had spent time in Korea and he said that the food there was authentic.  Obviously we had to go.  Another good friend also wanted to go, he has visited Korea and so knew the food.  The restaurant is close to us in an area that has recently been developed. When we walked in we were greeted in a friendly manner and showed to a table.  We waited. .. eventually the owner realised that we did not have a menu. He spoke to one on the waitresses who eventually brought us one menu... we were perusing this when a second menu arrived.  We made our choices and were ready to order,  we asked how big the Kimchi soup serving was, small was the reply, we ordered two.   We also ordered a rice dish with egg and fried chicken (we had a reference point for that).  We were served lots of side dishes.  The soups were big, but small bowls were provided.  The chicken arrived and it looked good, the only problem was no glove, but some were soon brought to us.  The chicken was good.  Overall it was a good experience.  The waitress was obviously new to the roll and has a lot to learn.  The really funny thing was that our friend speaks Thai, but when he spoke to her in Thai she looked more confused.  We will go again , the menu is extensive so there are lots of dishes to try.

The restaurant next door was Japanese and looked inviting, however, on perusal of the menu it seemed that every thing was only 59baht, so maybe not.  It was empty.
