Concentric Rings
I have to start by simply saying: "Thank you to all the blippers who commented yesterday on my 100th shot". To say that I was overwhelmed is an understatement. I really appreciated everyone's feedback. I will be thanking each of you personally over the next few days.
The weather today was gray and rainy and so I was originally planning an inside macro blip. However, as I was working on a quick outside project for Mrs TMG, my eye caught on the fire cistern next to our house. I had not visited it recently and decided to take a peek. When I reached it, I was immediately taken by the concentric rings created by the rain drops. The random overlapping patterns were intriguing and so I headed inside to get my camera.
Once I commenced shooting, the challenge was that the timing of rain drops was random so I never knew what I was capturing. My goal was to take a shot which highlighted the rings and the low contrast pond environment made it more difficult.
I am happy with this shot. I love the frozen motion of the rain drop hitting the water, the bubbles and the concentric rings.
Photoshop:
Curve layer to increase contrast.
Constructive criticism always welcome.
