The Trees Know

Dear Diary,

The trees know that Autumn is right around the corner.  This lovely spot of red stands out so nicely against the grey birch.  It is only 45F here this morning; a definite chill in the air.  The day will warm up and we are hoping for some rain beginning tonight.

I did learn the sad news that the pandemic has finally hit home taking the life of my cousin Cindy in Florida.  She had been in a nursing home for many years suffering from Alzheimer's.  Her mother died of Alzheimer's as well.  It is very prevalent in my family unfortunately.  May she rest in peace and may this horrible virus which has now claimed over 180,000 lives in America come to an end through good science and common sense among the population.  The first we have but not the second.
