The Growing Family
The kids and grandkids were over tonight, so naturally a blip-full of young faces is in order.
Spent the day cleaning - it seemed never-ending. I'm embarrassed to admit, it's been awhile. I dusted, mopped, laundered, scrubbed, wiped, and vacuumed my way to cleanliness. It lasted for a moment, but it was nice even for awhile. We're still under construction with the pantry conversion and unfortunately we are now in the drywall mudding/sanding phase. No matter how much care my taxman takes to ensure the dust is controlled, it's not. Just the way it goes. He has just purchased another new tool, a power sander that attaches to a shop vac to control the dust. I have high hopes that it will do its job but we'll see. At least he's trying.
The kids arrived around 6:30 p.m. and they brought with them the lovely chaos that comes with a toddler and infant - sweet sounds of fire engine sirens, choo choo trains, musical bells, and chatter galore. Our lives have changed forever. Gone are the quiet and peaceful gatherings from before the grandchildren arrived.
In spite of the chaos I am full of peaceful contentment knowing that the future holds lots of noisy and blessed joyful gatherings.
Today I am grateful for noisy children, two loving daughters, and spring thunderstorms followed by a surprise snowfall that is quickly melting.
