Honda CL 350 1971 Exhaust System Repair

OK this is an admittedly gear head oriented photo.

My son, Chris, and I are re-building a 1971 Honda 350 motorcycle.

I'm making the exhaust system workable for now so we can continue other aspects of the build. The photo shows one of the two exhaust pipes.

Lacking access to welding equipment, I'm opting for a "chemical weld" on the patches using "JB Weld".

After shaping the anodized aluminum patches (gold color) to fit the contour of the muffler they are glued in place with the JB Weld epoxy.

I photographed the process and made a collage of them to show Chris the end result.

This weekend we will be good to go to put them back on the motorcycle.
