Tall, fragrant and white
Another drizzly day today. I took this picture before lunch in case I didn't take any more - I did have to go downtown in the afternoon, but it was gloomy and wet so this became my Blip today.
It's a beautiful lily - Lilium sargentii, from China. Supposed not to be too hardy, it's stood outside on the deck here for the last four winters, so it can't be that tender. One of the interesting things about it, apart from its lovely fragrance, is the habit of producing bulbils in the leaf axils - these can be grown on to produce more bulbs.
Quote of the Day:
Emily Dickinson - “The only commandment I ever obeyed - 'Consider the lilies'.”
