The early boat (Day 1939)

Up and out at stupid o'clock this morning to catch the early ferry across to Eday.
Today's job was to change a couple of parts on a hot water cylinder on behalf of the manufacturer as part of a warranty claim. After draining the cylinder I realised that one of the parts which had been sent was the wrong one. Hoping for the best, I changed the seal on the old one, crossed my fingers and re-filled the cylinder. Unsurprisingly it leaked. It isn't a massive leak, but the warranty claim was because the cylinder was leaking. I guess I will be back to Eday when the manufacturer supplies the correct part.
There isn't a whole lot to do in Eday, and when the ferry arrives in 90 minutes, I will have been waiting for it for four hours. I am looking forward to getting home in four hours or so and spending the evening with my beautiful wife.
