Deserted village on Inishbofin

Spending a few days on Inishbofin (the Island of the White Cow) in Co. Galway.  Torrential rain last night and much of today, but it stopped about 4pm and I went for a stroll along the SE side of the island where I came across this deserted village. You can see the old lazy beds in the field on the left, where they piled the meagre soil into ridges to make it deep enough to grow potatoes. I don't know why they call them lay beds, it must have been very hard work laying them out.
