Goldies

Had a text from my parents to say they had a leak from the roof in one of their bedrooms. Luckily my brother is off work this week so went round and into the attic and identified it to be a problem with the flue from the gas fire. He couldn’t fix it but we gave them the roofer we used earlier this year to contact. Hopefully he managed to at least make it secure as more rain is forecast for tomorrow. Not spoken to Mum since lunchtime. 

We spent a couple of hours this afternoon putting together the raised bed kit that we ordered. Now we just need to get someone to help lift it from the garage to the garden and fill it and we can get started. 

Spent the rest of the afternoon cancelling yet more trips for the remainder of this year. We’ll start our “proper” retirement when all this is over. 

We’ve not had many birds in the garden recently so I was happy to see this juvenile goldfinch begging for food from one of its parents.
