Moorhen Chicks

This afternoon Helpet57 and I took Fouter for a walk in Rouken Glen Park. It was a bit mizzly when we started but conditions soon improved and it really got quite warm.

It was quite a surprise to see a family of five moorhen chicks on the pond in Rouken Glen Park. Apart from a wee red beak the chicks are completely black. 

The lily pads made great stepping stones with the moorhens huge feet acting a bit like snow shoes and spreading their minimal weight over a fairly large area.
