We all stand together.
My regular blip friends will know that this is annual memorial we attend every year. The local stones were constructed symbolically to represent the 112 men & boys who lost their lives in the explosion at Parc Slip colliery on the 26th August 1892. My great grandfather, Edward Albert Humphries was 21 when he died in the the explosion. My grandfather, Edward Albert was born not long after he died. The tragedy happened about 8.20am, so we have the memorial at that exact time each. I was so glad that the weather was much improved from yesterday, as it is a good walk down to the memorial stones. I was pleased to see such a good turn out today, although due to the distancing the placing of people is a bit haphazard. As we had to leave so early we didn't have breakfast, so as soon as we got home J made us bacon & egg butties and a mug of coffee. It went down a treat.
Thanks to you all for the stars & hearts for my 70th birthday which got me on to page one of the popular page.
