BROWN PELICAN

This is the Brown Pelican (Pelicanus occidentalis)...America's most abundant member of the Genus. Very common along the Gulf coast. To paraphrase Ogden Nash....

An interesting bird is the Pelican,
His bill can hold more than his belican.

They say in his beak he holds fish for a week,
But I really don't see how the helican.
