When I was young...

Took a jaunt through the local marsh today looking for Merganzers - someone else posted pics on Facebook of Common Merganzers frolicking on the ice yesterday. No such luck.

However, all the fresh snow and lots of sun (finally!!!) made for some amazing shadows. At first the shadow of the barbed wire loop caught my attention, but then I realized that the shadow of the crooked post was perfectly vertical. At some point in its existence, this post must have been vertical.
