Mary Queen of Scots

A cast of Mary Queen of Scots' tomb in Westminster Abbey. She was executed in 1587 for treason after allegedly conspiring to kill Elizabeth of England, despite her argument that she was not English and could not therefore be tried for treason in England. At her trial in England she supposedly told her triers, "Look to your consciences and remember that the theatre of the whole world is wider than the kingdom of England"

James VI had the tomb erected for his mother.
