Ladybird

I love seeing ladybirds and I'm glad they're back, along with other insects, spiders and grubs after our shocking summer of fires. Ladybirds are supposed to bring good fortune, but we're happy just knowing they will protect our plants by eating the aphids and other sap suckers. This one is in our lime tree. It's been in almost constant flower and has had an amazingly long fruiting season. Lime pickle, lime marmalade, like cakes, lime milkshakes...
