The Lake District from Morecambe

On a day like today, it is easy to see why Morecambe was once so popular. It has lovely sands, an excellent promenade, wonderful views across the bay to the Lake District. And it's not far- from Manchester, Liverpool etc. I suspect that it found it hard to compete with package holidays to Spain, but it might take a prolonged Covid pandemic for it to recover its market position. It is some way short of being to Lancashire what Scarborough is to Yorkshire. But I have heard that plans are afoot to build an Eden Project the North in Morecambe. Let's hope the town feels the benefits.
