A dragonfly rescue and an unexpected dook

The first extra, taken this morning, was going to be my 'Goodbye from Roag and Mindi' blip as I leave this house-sit in a couple of hours.

However, on our way past the pond after this afternoon's walk, I noticed this dragonfly* struggling on the surface of the water. Mindi spotted it too - 2nd extra - and after several minutes, deaf to my warnings, in her eagerness to reach it, ended up falling into the pond!

For a second or two I had visions of having to go in to rescue her, but she very swiftly doggy-paddled to the edge and even managed to climb out without help. Phew! (For all I know, the dogs may be quite used to having a dip, but It's never been mentioned.)

After watching and willing the dragonfly to fly off - it nearly made it onto a lily pad several times - I dangled a long stalk of grass above it and the dragonfly eventually managed to latch onto it and be lifted out of the water.

Hooray, my first ever dragonfly blip and rescue!

Straight back to Pookie-Minty-Leo's this evening.
