Reflecting

What is it with Mondays and rain? I had another wet walk down to Maggie’s with the bakery contents of the freezer and got suitably wet. The thought of more of the same on the way home propelled me on to a bus with my face mask.

There were 6 of us on the foot deck , 4 of us wearing masks and two others maskless. There is a notice on the buses saying that face protection is mandatory unless there is a medical reason for not wearing one, but cynical as I am , I would hazard a guess that neither of the two young people not complying had no justifiable reason not to wear a mask ; but then again perhaps they had. No one will ever know.
It wouldn’t happen in China. There they would probably have to produce a medical certificate.
I haven’t heard of anyone not complying on flights to the Continent. Does any one else find that strange? I know, I know. I’m paranoid because I find masks horrible to wear because of my glasses constantly misting despite my efforts with soap, detergent or spitting!
I did actually take them off for the duration of the journey and managed not to miss my destination stop. Maybe that’s the way forward - mask on, glasses off and an unfocused view of the world.

The world near me is saturated with water especially the grass on the Meadows and the Links and large puddles abound on the roads. The trick is to judge the speed of passing traffic to enable a tsunami free passage on the pavement. Buses are the worst as they stick close to the kerb. This giant puddle had not been disturbed and gave a clear reflection of the flats opposite.
