Ties that bind

Had a bit of a wardrobe clear out. It involved getting rid of some much-loved ties. I threw away a good number as soon as I retired from teaching in 2018 but still had 63 left. I have now whittled them down to 20. These include an Oldham Athletic centenary tie from 1995, a Durham RUFC County representative tie from the 1972-73 season, my old school tie, ties bought for me by colleagues when I was 60 and a retirement tie (the one with Oystercatcher on it) presented to me by the department's 'cleaner' who in truth was far more cultured and erudite than the rest of the department put together.
They are purely sentimental as I never wear a tie now.
