A Good Read

I first read The Thirty-Nine Steps at school and received this edition as a present. Reading it today brought back the same emotions I remember from schooldays

Amazing to think soldiers in WW1 reading this book in the trenches

The introduction to this edition is interesting but woke views superfluous. It is what it is, a very good thriller and evocative of a period long gone, no need for apologies.
