Pictorial blethers

Another day ...

...Another family. It’s a casualty of the pandemic that in the year my London family returned to live in Edinburgh we were unable to see them for all of Spring and early summer. Today, however, we were able to make the most of having both of our sons and their families in the same city - and almost in walking distance of each other. (The “almost” is because we didn’t quite make it back today and phoned for a lift for the last mile ...)

The walking was almost all done on the fabulous network of cycle paths, crossing the city on the old railway lines, and on the Water of Leith walkway. The photo shows the dramatic sight of the Dean Bridge high above the post-glacial gorge where the Dean Village hugs the river.

By this point we were on our walk home from a lovely day with #2 son and his girls. I don’t quite know where Ewan picked up his creative culinary skills, but they’re considerable. I can confess that though I’ve walked quite far today, I’ve eaten and drink well enough to make a necessity out of a virtue ... I think! Champagne, laughs, sunshine - then back for dinner with the other side of our universe: couldn’t ask for more.

And finally, as they used to say at the end of the News (do they still?): thank you to all of my fellow-blippers who took the trouble to drop by and say nice things. You’re a great community!
