Grumpybum

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellows,

Caro has been in a right mood today, and no cheering her up, neither.

"My holiday is nearly over and I've done NOTHING," she wailed.

I pointed out some of the things she had done. Gardening, I pointed out, and that time we went to Mitre 10...

"Not THOSE sorts of things," she said. "I had plans."

I did mention to her, right at the start of the holiday, that she might go to Auckland with Feefs. But Feefs was unavailable. And anyway, if she HAD gone, she would be stuck there now, as the city is under a stricter level of lockdown than the rest of the country.

"Things like that," she agreed.

I tried to help. "Let's do something," I suggested. "We could go into the city."

"No," she said, pulling her couch-blanket closer. "You don't understand."

I came up with a selection of other helpful suggestions. Each of which was battered away angrily until she eventually said, "STOP TRYING TO HELP."

Oh.

That one again.

So I stopped trying to help. But told her I needed to go to the shopping mall to pick up:

- Milk
- Oats, for the birds

She decided to come with me and I think she rather enjoyed herself. She bought a bag of fun-sized Milky Ways and returned to her couch.

And Jasper snuggled up under the couch-duvet, because that's what Jaspers do.

S.
