Seaside Frolics Continued

What is it about these ‘mine host’ types of B&B owner? Ours didn’t disappoint in living up to the stereotype. Did you go on Icon he asked, as he stood over us at breakfast. We hadn’t. Oh you should have, it’s brilliant. Second best ride in the world, he declared, and there he paused. His big grinning overgrown schoolboy face awaiting our response. (Oh please, pray do tell me dear landlord, what do you consider to be the greatest ride?)
It’s Ferrari World at Dubai, apparently! And then he’s off describing the wondrous wonderfulness of it. I don’t want to go. In fact, I want the opposite of it, whatever that is.
Anyway, we thought we better go and see some of these piers, which TripAdvisor reckons to be nos.25 and 26 on the Blackpool must-see list. And what larks we had. Ending on deck chairs listening to some young crooner at the end of North Pier, followed by the second fish & chips in two days. 
But then, a problem of Sunak’s doing - everywhere fully booked for an evening meal! We had to go to Lytham St Annes! To Pizza Express. And I must say it was rather nice and quite genteel. I may tell mine host that I've found that Blackpool is no2 on the Fylde Coast....
