The Urban Newtown

The Urban became a quarantine hotel soon after Australia imposed mandatory 14-day hotel stays on returning overseas travellers at the end of March. Hotel staff were replaced by police, including two or three sitting outside on plastic chairs, presumably to prevent escape attempts and/or drug deliveries. For some reason I avoided that side of the street when they were there.  

The mural, depicting locals priced out of the housing market, is by Fintan Magee.
