Project....
Windbreak........ this nearly broke us this afternoon!!
It is being erected to cut the cold easterly winds that pester us while sitting on our patio.
I'll fill you in....
Doug has been building the wall over the last week, making the weather boards to match our house. Let’s just say it is STURDY !! (They will be painted black to match the house in due course)
We went to Christchurch last Monday to pickup the balustrades and the heavy duty glass. Let me tell you those 12mm thick glass panels weigh a ton. One of the panels fell off into the garden while we were endeavouring to slide the glass into the groove on the balustrade. And it didn’t break!!! Thank goodness.
We finished as it was getting dark. Still stuff to do but the hard part is done I hope.
Why would 70+ oldies attempt such a task? Because we are DIY’ers I guess and always have been.
I’ll blip it again when it’s all finished , all painted and dressed up with pots etc.
We were so pooped that a parcel of fish and chips was bought for dinner. The easy option.
