Empty shells!

Sorry. I had planned to take the 'before' photo but forgot!
We were going to try the Jamie Oliver recipe for mussels with smoked bacon and cider, so Mr F went to the market this morning and came back with twice as many mussels as we needed!
Then by pure chance, later in the afternoon, grandpa gite guest popped round to ask if we could recommend a restaurant which served good moules! He was in luck as Mr F is an excellent moules chef and we had plenty to spare, so moules marinières was delivered to him and we sat down to our moules with cider and bacon. It was good to try something new but we prefer the marinières.
The rest of grandpa gite guest's family left on Tuesday to complete their quarantine before school starts, leaving he and his wife to enjoy a peaceful relaxing end to their holiday. He says they have had two holidays in one!
