Thursday, 89ºF.  Cooler.

The wind changed direction so we have clearer air here in RWC for now.  The fires are raging around us.  I can see massive smoke clouds south and east.  The CZU fire is close by.  La Honda has been evacuated.  It has burned 48,000 acres so far, there has been loss of life, animal and human.  Damage to wildlife and wild lands, homes, many beautiful and precious trees.  Sob.  

Giant plumes of smoke as we look toward the East Bay. 

The North Bay into Napa, Sonoma, Marin - Point Reyes is burning - it just goes on and on.

The temperatures are cooling and there is promise of marine fog tonight which will bring cooling and moist air in and I do so hope it helps everything.

UC Santa Cruz campus has been evacuated.
