Evening Glow

I assume there was a veil of cloudy haze dispersing the light of the sun leading to a glowing golden sky. Of course the contrast was extreme, but hiding the sun behind a big tree helped and created dramatic silhouettes. 

I think I could have left the shadows completely black in this one, because the shapes are interesting. But I decided to bring out some of the shadow detail and discovered more light coming through the lower trees and leaves which I felt added further interest.

In retrospect, I could maybe have got lower down to make the distant tree in the centre clear the leaves above. But these are the finer points.
