We Went 'Out' Out!
We had a lovely day today. It was warm and sunny after a rainy night so we walked along the tow path into Skipton mainly to get another pair of reading specs from Boots 1/2 price (only 20 quid!) and to look for some fabric for Frank's pyjama bottoms and some for another dress for me. We found what we wanted and I also got some fabric for 2 cushions for the boat with a peacock feather design. Oh, and I bought some knitting wool should the urge to knit get stronger! I really love the feeling of sheep wool but as I am vegan don't normally buy it. However at the Fent Fabric shop they sell natural sheep wool which is from the owner's Mum's pet sheep which are only kept for wool and never for meat.
I got the cream colour - they don't dye it so you can only get creams and browns.
I then treated Frank and Bella May to lunch at Kibble Dog Cafe. It was really well organised with tables seperated by clear plastic sheets and table service. Bella had a peanut butter choc chip dog biscuit which she loved. It was served on a slate on the floor!
Then we sat on a bench outside the Boathouse Pub in the canal basin and had a beer. There was a young guy (Alistair Griffin) giving a concert on the front of a narrow boat. He was being interviewed and filmed for TV.
He sang a few of my fave songs including Chasing Cars and Sit Down Next To Me and also some of his own penned songs. He was excellent.
We then walked back and stopped for a chat to the boater whose narrowboat I blipped a couple of weeks ago with the motortrike on the front. Under a wheelbarrow on his roof was a pretty little white cat.
I'll blip more of today over the next few days. This was the first time we've been 'out' out since the start of lockdown. We wore our masks and sanitised our hands everywhere.
Eddie the sign artist came for a social distanced cuppa while he was prepping next doors boat for repainting the name.
Now to watch a film - Quartet with Billy Connelly, Maggie Smith, Pauline Collins and some other good actors.
Goodnight :-)X
