Evoking childhood memories

Today I spent the morning with my son Reece, celebrating his 22nd birthday. This afternoon I enjoyed a photoshoot with Phoebe in Mesnes Park, Wigan. As a child growing up in Wigan, I spent many an hour in the park and traditionally, if you rubbed the shoe it apparently brought you good luck. 
Phoebe was a great sport by having a go at rubbing the foot herself.
The statue is the Baronet Sir Francis Sharp Powell, born in Wigan 1827.
