Say Hello to Junior!
I bought a new Helianthus (Sunflower) at the local garden centre at the start of August, and then almost killed it within hours by leaving it in a small pot in the heat.
Fortunately, I did re-potted it and it appeared to have survived, and even thrived on the experience. (I took a photo of a new Helianthus emerging on 7 August.)
Unfortunately, the weather has been terrible for most of the time since and the sunflower was rain damaged from the start. However, little did I know that under the canopy of 'mother' were some happy off-spring (or side-spring?) Hopefully the weather will be kinder to these, but I am happy to have got them this far!
