Baby blessing

This is a custom that whole family, a couple& their baby +their parents visit a shrine to get blessing for new born baby. We are supposed to do this 30 days after baby's born.
I noticed when I saw this pic on my PC, but it seems like babies get a red stamp on their foreheads.
Still lots of things I don't know about my country.

I just happened to see them on my way to friend's house.
