"A break from study"

Today is her revision for French oral exam tomorrow, I'm not much help with French as its many years since Miss Wanklin put me off the subject for life !!
Am much better at Maths help, but today is algebra for the large part and to this day I think back to the many hours I toiled with Algebra, logarithms, etc and for the life of me I can honestly say I've never used it lol. Not sure what use Algebra will be to my granddaughter either but we plod on to work out the value of x and y regardless.
Strange though how little time is spent on times tables nowadays, I am amazed at how difficult kids find reckoning up and I am grateful for the excellent start I had at St Luke's where times table was drummed into us right from infants.
She is having a welcome break from study to check Facebook, what did we do before mobile phones and laptops, bless the Internet, its a good help for grandmas at homework sessions too, but its no substitute for times tables !!! :))
