Lake Thun from Beatenberg

Day 2 (Route 8) made yesterday look easy. 95km, ascent of 940 mètres (3083 feet) from Meiringen to Bern via Beatenberg. My husband decided we should take a detour but forgot the mention it was mainly uphill! The hardest day cycling I’ve ever had but worth it for the incredible views. The main photo is just after we had reached the high point of the day, looking down on to Lake Thun. (See extras for other highlights of the day). I’m not sure the owner of the BnB where we are staying tonight actually believed us when we said what we had done today.

The next two days are quite flat, thank goodness.
