Coffee For One

I’ve discovered that I can’t tolerate caffeine in my old age which means no more strong coffee from the machine. I treated myself to a small cafetière and some decaf coffee from Waitrose which is tolerable. Poppy’s lemon drizzle cake is disappearing fast but went very nicely with my coffee this morning.
It has rained heavily for most of the day. I’ve been practicing the flute piece for Emma’s ensemble and hoping to record my contribution tomorrow.
D and I have decided to have a couple of days away next week. The children don’t want to come so are staying on their own. We have started discussions about what they need to remember to do (feed the animals, collect the eggs etc.) and what they are going to eat.
