2020 Monday — The Long and not so Windy Road
I knew when we came to the Central Coast on June 26th that we would stay (if possible) till sometime in August; I just wasn’t sure which day. Now the moment has arrived.
The drive back to our Southern California house is approximately 4 hours (it mostly depends on traffic). Always our goal is to get going early because the later in the day that we head into Los Angeles, the worse the traffic can be.
This photo reveals the street we live on as we crest the hill at the south end and head toward the freeway on-ramp and south toward Morro Bay. If you enlarge the photo and look on the left hand side you will see Hwy.1 — that is the freeway as it goes behind the sleepy little town of Cayucos.
Today our drive-time was 3-hours and 50-minutes from front door to front door. We left 75 degree weather and arrived to 105 degree heat in SoCal.
The reason we came back to SoCal is because Mr. Fun was told in spring that he has prostate cancer. His doctor has given him hormone treatment the past 3-months while they wait to see what’s happening with one lymph node that looked rather odd in the CT Scan. The doctor thinks the lymph node could have been “aggravated” because of the biopsy or it could be cancerous. If the node is cancerous, removing the prostrate will not be the solution. So the retesting happens this week. The meeting with Mr.Fun’s doctor is on Wednesday, August 26.
Good night from SoCal,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun). aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
