Algae

Kelps are large seaweeds belonging to the brown algae in the order Laminariales and is thought to have appeared in Miocene, 23 to 5 million years ago. These appeared around 3.30pm while the tide was out at Fyffe Quay, Kaikoura, NZ.
I can't post the great shots of the two Sperm Whales we saw off Kaikoura as the iPhone's didn't pick them as well as my camera. If you have the chance it's worth going to see whales in the ocean.
