Healthy
Admittedly not the greatest pic, taken at the limit of little cameras 30x zoom. Having had first tawny Owls and now Buzzards nest in the wood has certainly made the reds a lot more cautious and flighty than usual - this is the first time I've seen one sit on the feeder and eat, usually it's a grab and run. However (s)he looks fantastically healthy and has company, so hopefully they are thriving.
Another of the not obvious Hut jobs today that hopefully will have a quiet appreciation in the future; sealing the ceiling with oil.
Later this evening we had a wander up on the fell with Missy. When we arrived there was a huge gathering (12+ cars, 30+ people) of people clearly not from the area. An impressive collection of pimped up rides with private plates, dropped suspension etc. We wandered in the other direction. We heard them all roar off when we were a fair way away, but when we returned to the parking place we were dismayed to find a neatly tied up bulging carrier bag of McDonald's and Costa rubbish (we donned gloves and took it home to bin). There's currently a petition to get fast food outlets to put car registrations onto purchases. It seems like a good idea.
