Lathyrus Odoratus

Silver-spotted skipper

Time for my weekly walk up Blackcap and into Ashcombe Bottom on a hot sunny morning. I wanted to make another count of Silver-spotted skippers - this time it was much better (double figures) but what was even more surprising was finding another three Silver-spotted skippers on the north side of the escarpment two miles away from the colony. Perhaps a new colony is going to appear. There were still lots of other butterflies up here (it was a 14 species walk) including my first Painted Lady of the year.
