Pirates
Lorna is the 'pirate' standing in the middle of the boat on a family holiday to Cornwall in 1931 or 1932. It is a pity that the quality of the photograph isn't good enough to guess at the identities of the other pirates, but we believe that the tallest one is Lorna's brother Theo, and the boy next to him is Cousin Arthur.
This photograph appears in a family annual on the same page as a report of a visit to Falmouth (by Lorna's father Albert) with a 'disgruntled one' (Lorna). We have added this as an extra. It turns out that Lorna wasn't disgruntled for long. She cheered up considerably on meeting a Mr Neal and discovering shared interests in boats, dogs, and books.
