Boat Lifts
Was not that warm today (car thermostat only registered 30 degrees as the outside temperature), so we decided to go for a walk to see the boat lifts. These are a UNESCO world heritage site. There are four old boat lifts along a stretch of four miles of canal, which are very cool. Then on the new canal there is the new amazing boat lift of Strépy-Thieu, whichi is a marvel of modern engineering. Despite the reduced temperature, we failed to do the eight mile circuit, so only did half, and then saw the rest via the car.
