The Garden Centre plans fell through
but the site is sold. Hopefully not more expensive housing. 218 houses currently being erected on the opposite side of the road, another development of "superb" 3 & 4 bedroom properties at the Exeter end of town about to commence construction ... & yet the businesses in the town struggle. Such a pity!
A bit of a mizzly start to the day but plenty to do up on the plot, & manure to be had at 10am. Down to Maxine with my empty bags, plus beans, courgettes, lettuce, & beetroot. 9 bags of farmyard manure plus 3 bags of used chicken nesting straw, for setting under the butternut squash which are growing away. Jim had courgette cake, I dropped another around to Richard & Shirley. They have all been very generous, so it's nice to be able to repay them. :-)
Back to base I potted up some cuttings that have taken successfully. More plants for the next Rowcroft Hospice sale hopefully.
Just watched Gardener's World on catch up now off to finish making dinner. Roast lamb, with home grown veggies.
Thanks to Marlieske for hosting Derelict Sunday
